Continuing community during COVID-19 pandemic

Allen Brasington is the president of Asheville Rotary Club and had about a 10-day notice before COVID-19 halted the club’s meetings.

His first reaction was to keep people calm through regularly scheduled Zoom calls. This connection to community proved to be important for both Allen and those in his club.

But was even more exciting for Allen was the opportunity to explore new topics with his club, and bring in guest speakers from across the country. While rotary club members weren’t bumping shoulders, they were certainly feeding off each other’s company, and becoming more resilient.

Hear more from Allen and the importance of community in this week’s podcast episode.
